Every holiday season, I start getting the one big question.
No, not is the the man with bag real, but WHAT IS A GOOD GIFT THAT TEACHERS REALLY WANT?
I have been told that helping parents come up with teacher gifts is one of my superpowers (because I, like Johnny Cash, walk the line since I am both teacher and parent) and as I noticed the questions coming in this holiday season, I decided to take a break from the usual blog post to give you a list of my faves. I know parents want to give teacher gifts that they will love and actually use so put down that mug (we love you, but no more mugs) and get reading!Read More
Yes, there is a way to do it...trust me. As a teacher and a parent, parent-teacher conferences can be fruitful and yield an amazing opportunity to acquire information about your child’s education OR they can be a waste of time. It’s really a question of how you handle it.Read More

Are you a Very Busy Spider or a Very Focused Spider?
I believe that poor spider got mislabeled. Her web was on point...and she got it done in her time frame. She was a productive, focused spider...not a Very Busy Spider.
I love Eric Carle, but I am kindly asking for a re-write.
I mean, come on…Read More

I was constantly cleaning up a mess my 2-year-old had made, attempting to cook some complicated meal, doing piles of laundry, planning workouts and ways to get back to my pre-baby weight and worrying about how I was going to keep it all together when I went back to work in just four short weeks.Read More

Guest Blogger, dreamer, and doer: Abby Lemke
A mama raising two amazing kids. My passions are teaching yoga and empowering young people to find their college and career paths.
Abby is an amazing woman whom I met at a children's yoga training. She is smart, funny and honest. She has little sprouts at home but her jam is in teaching the big ones (high school/college) to follow their dreams and she has a pretty awesome track record at doing just that. I sat down with Abby to chat this week about nothing related to her post today and we found our missions to help kiddos and families grow strong roots and find their paths weave together in a beautiful system. I really wished I would have taped our discussion because that could be another blog post...so we will just have to ask her back again. I will include what she is up to at the end of her blog post and if you have a high school/college student I suggest you check her out. My purpose for having mystery bloggers is to make us all think, offer perspective and share the connection of being ourselves and raising children in this community garden of life. I choose people who inspire and intrigue me with how they choose to garden their souls and cultivate their family life so I hope you enjoy...
